The work takes the form of a vertical composition comprising two photographs. Fragmented framing leaves the model’s face outside the image, focusing attention on the sculptural quality of the nude body, its contours, and the stillness of the pose. Separated by white space, the two photographs are perceived as parts of a single image.
The saturated blue tone was created using studio lighting and an experimental white-balance setting, then refined in post-production. The monochromatic palette visually brings the skin and background closer together, while deep shadows preserve the body’s volume.
For Anastasiya Milinets, nudity in this work is associated with vulnerability, while the blue glow evokes calm and serenity. Avoiding overt display, the artist approaches the body as a sculptural form and invites the viewer to focus on the image, its colour, and the state it conveys.
