«Vulnerability» is built on extreme proximity to the face. Black-and-white contrast intensifies every detail: the open mouth, tense eyelids, folds of skin, sharp light, and dense shadow. The portrait holds a moment in which control over expression is no longer possible. The work turns to a state that is usually hidden or softened. Here, vulnerability is revealed through the body: through an open gesture, muscular tension, the texture of skin, and a direct address to the viewer. The title moves this scream from the realm of fear into that of presence. Vulnerability becomes a way of being visible without a protective form. The close-up removes distance and leaves the viewer before a state that is difficult to hold at a safe remove.
