The blazing yellow orb of the sun silently scorches patterns into the rocks. Nature, as if lulled by the heat, has fallen utterly quiet — only free gusts of wind whisper through the crevices. The wind never intends to yield; ever in search, it threads its way between the stones and reminds the silent observer of their own aspirations and inner strength.
The form and texture of this piece call to mind rocky gorges at the height of midday heat. The longer you gaze into them, the more distinctly you hear the wind roaming within. Despite its mighty force, it remains almost elusive and infinitely free. In these gusts you will always find inspiration. Simply trust the wind.

About the Author
OKSANA PANFILOVA
I came to ceramics from interior design. Over seven years of creative work, I made it to the shortlist of the «Invented and Made in Russia» competition and took part in several major exhibitions, including COSMOSCOW.
Ceramics had been calling me for a long time: I wanted to create large vases in the style of raw, living ceramics — the kind you see in magazines! For me, clay is fascinating in its naturalness and its outward simplicity. It never tries to pretend — and that is its beauty.
At the same time, clay has its own voice and will; it can reveal character. Because of this, clay invites invention, pushes you to experiment, and always gives that trembling sense of hope for creating a true work of art. Exploring and working with the material’s nature — that is what I love most about ceramics.
